[이코노믹리뷰=박창민 기자] Kakao Bank announced on the 23rd that it has received the ‘2020 Korean Job Merit Award’ awarded by the Jobs Committee in recognition of its contribution to creating financial jobs and creating a family-friendly corporate culture.

Kakao Bank is creating high-quality jobs in the finance and IT fields, and has established a virtuous cycle structure in which employment and growth go hand in hand.

The number of direct hires from 328 at the time of service opening in July 2017 has increased to 915 as of December 2020. In addition, it turned to the black last year, and this year it is expanding. In particular, despite the spread of Corona 19, 129 employees netted this year alone, and they were evenly employed by job field such as finance, IT, and customer service.

Kakao Bank is also taking the lead in hiring female workers. As of this month, the proportion of female workers among those working at Kakao Bank is 48%. This year’s’Affirmative Action’ system is 6.01 percentage points (p) higher than the average 41.99% of female workers in the financial/insurance business with less than 1,000 employees.

Kakao Bank is creating a family-friendly corporate culture. It provides’before and after childbirth leave’ and’paid health leave’ for up to 110 days, and supports up to 10 million won for multi-childbirth. Employees with infants and children are provided with a subsidy of 100,000 won per month for two years, and support for the operation of three joint daycare centers near the company.

Kakao Bank, the first of its kind in the banking sector, introduced a full-scale’flexible work system’ that allows you to adjust your working hours by yourself, and introduced a sabbatical to support one month’s paid vacation and 2 million won in vacation expenses every three years of service.

Kakao Bank has eliminated the old custom in the financial sector, the separation of job groups, and applies the same welfare benefits and employment rules regardless of the distinction between regular and non-regular workers. It is famous for its horizontal corporate culture, which does not have a rank system, and everyone, including the CEO, can express opinions freely using English names.

An official at Kakao Bank said, “From the first day of the new year, 20 people will join, and next year, we plan to hire an additional three-digit number of people. We will continue to create good jobs that young people prefer by creating quality jobs and creating a corporate culture. I will fulfill my social responsibility.”

Meanwhile, Kakao Bank was also selected as the’Korea’s Best Job Company’ by the Ministry of Employment and Labor in 2019.
