The Crash Landing of Love is a drama about the love of a South Korean conglomerate woman and a North Korean male officer. It was written by Park Ji-eun, who wrote’My Love from the Star’ and’The Legend of the Blue Sea’. After being released through Netflix in February of last year, it was listed in the top 10 popular works in Japan for 10 weeks, and sang the’K-Roco’ (romantic comedy) craze. Former Osaka Mayor Toru Hashimoto, who is classified as a far-right politician, and Motegi Toshimitsu, the foreign minister of the Suga cabinet, were popular locally enough to reveal that they watched the “Crash Landing of Love”.

In China, news was also delivered in real time. Chinese poetry entertainment and others covered the news that the two actors were actually dating.

Earlier, the Washington Post named the crash landing of love as a “must see international series recommended”, and Forbes named “2019 Best Korean Drama”.

On the first day of the new year, the agency of Hyunbin and Son Yejin acknowledged the fact of dating, stating, “The two have come to a relationship through the work. After the drama ended, we have developed into lovers with good feelings for each other.”
