‘K-League agreement controversy’… ‘Official’ What about FC Seoul Park Jeong-bin?

Now, the K-League is hot with the’consensus controversy’.

Baek Seung-ho (24) lit a fire. From the Suwon Samsung Youth Team, he did not implement the agreement he wrote with Suwon Samsung. There was a provision that “when returning to the K-League, you must join Suwon, and if you violate the study abroad support fee and compensate for damage,” Baek Seung-ho negotiated a transfer with Hyundai Jeonbuk. Suwon, feeling betrayed, is expressing a strong position that even the lawsuit will be immortal.

There is another similar case. This is Park Jung-bin (27) who joined FC Seoul in December last year.

He is from the Jeonnam Dragons Youth Team, Gwangyang Steel Middle School. Although he was scheduled to go to Gwangyang Steel High School in 2010, he passed the entrance test for the Wolfsburg youth team in Germany. Since then, he has been active in various countries in Europe, including Groiter Furt, Karlsruhe, Denmark Hobro IK, Viborg FF, and Serbet, Switzerland. Then, wearing a Seoul uniform last year, he entered the K-League.

There were two controversies in this process.

First, when moving to Wolfsburg, Park Jeong-bin did not inform Jeonnam about the facts. Jeonnam proceeded with a lawsuit under the will of not being able to send it as it is and won. The court ordered Park Jeong-bin to pay 100 million dollars. Then, Park Jeong-bin appealed for a sonship, and Jeonnam allowed the transfer on a massive scale.

At this time, the’agreement’ was written. The core content is this.

‘If Park Jung-bin comes to the K-League, he must return to Jeonnam. In case of violation, the amount received for payment will be repaid to Jeonnam.’

The second controversy is now. Park Jung-bin came to the K-League, but it is not Jeonnam. I didn’t have any conversations with Jeonnam. Jeonnam knew that he came to the K-League with the announcement of Seoul’s recruitment of Park Jung-bin. Even afterwards, there was no direct contact with Park Jeong-bin. Park Jung-bin did not implement the agreement.

Seoul did not know the existence of an agreement between Park Jeong-bin and Jeonnam. The Korea Professional Football Federation (Football Federation) created a rule to prevent this problem in 2012. Like Seung-ho Baek, this rule does not apply retroactively to Jeong-bin Park.

It is similar to Seung-ho Baek, but there is a’big difference’.

Baek Seung-ho announced the contents of the agreement during the negotiation process with Jeonbuk. Negotiations stopped. However, Park Jung-bin has already become’official’. The enrollment contract is irreversible. How will Park Jung-bin, Jeonnam and Seoul unwind this thread in the future?

Jeonnam’s position is firm and simple. Just follow the agreement. I felt betrayed, but decided to exclude the emotional part.

A Jeonnam official said, “It is not an individual and individual agreement. It is a contract with the club or group. Of course, you have to proceed according to the agreement. You can repay the amount specified in the agreement. It is true that there was no prior consultation, and it is true that we were sorry, but according to the agreement. “If you do not do that, you will have no choice but to solve the problem legally. We have already sent proof of the contents to Park Jeong-bin. If we do not follow the agreement, we will also take a legal response.”

Park Jung-bin’s side conveyed his intention to repay it. However, specific methods and timing were omitted.

A Jeonnam official said, “There was no problem if we proceeded with the lawsuit immediately after the transfer to Seoul was confirmed. However, I heard that Park Jung-bin’s side is willing to pay the money through the agent. I waited. Two months later, some concrete action has been made. No. Clearly, the method and timing of reimbursement were not known. There was no way to connect to it, although there should be a direct conversation. So I sent a proof of contents.”

Park Jung-bin’s side started to move directly. I arrived in Germany on the 21st. Until the self-isolation is over, it is expected that they will meet over the phone and meet in person later. Jeonnam is waiting for contact.

What is Seoul’s position?

A Seoul official said, “I don’t know if there will be a difference in payment timing, but I heard the intention to pay from the athletes’ side. The agreement must be fulfilled. Park Jung-bin’s side entered Korea to solve this problem. I hope it can be solved well. I think there is a high possibility.”

The opening of the 2021 K-League 1 (Section 1) is approaching on the 4th. Seoul will hold an official opening match with Jeonbuk on the 27th. The participation of Park Jung-bin, who caused controversy over the agreement, also became a concern.

Seoul coach Park Jin-seop attended the K-League 1 opening Media Day on the 22nd and said, “Both Na Sang-ho and Park Jung-bin are good players. They are the players who will lead our attack. Jeonbuk seems to have to be very careful. Seoul has changed, from the opening game. I will show you,” he expressed his trust.

Accordingly, a Seoul official explained, “We have not discussed whether Park Jung-bin participated in the game internally.”
