On the 11th, JYP Entertainment made an official position and said, “JYP held an in-depth discussion with the members ahead of the expiration of the exclusive contract with the artist GOT7 on January 19th. As a result, both sides decided not to proceed with renewal of the contract under an agreement, wishing for a newer future.

JYP said, “GOT7 has made a big success as a global idol group representing K-pop for over 7 years since its debut on January 16, 2014,” and “GOT7 has been with K-pop and JYP’s growth, and generous support with their debut. As a result, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the fans, including’I GOT7′, who have been the driving force behind GOT7’s activities.”

He added, “The official relationship is over, but JYP will sincerely support the new future for GOT7 members.”

Earlier, JYP Entertainment responded cautiously, saying, “We are discussing issues related to renewal from various angles” when the rumors of the members’ transfer were raised ahead of the end of GOT7’s exclusive contract.
