Justice Party reviewed no nomination for 4·7 re-election “Secondary offenses against victims were blocked”

The Justice Party, which fell into’Kim Jong-cheol sexual harassment shock’, has switched to the system of emergency response meetings. This is a method in which the party leadership does not resign, and all the leadership, including lawmakers, organize an emergency response meeting.

Jang Hye-young and Kim Jong-cheol were accused of
“Sorry for one-sided behavior without communication with me”

Jeong Ho-jin, chief spokesman for the Justice Party, said on the 26th, “Hospital representative Kang Eun-mi and Kim Yoon-gi, acting representative of the party, will co-represent the situation and correct the situation.” Rep. Jang Hye-young of the victim is also included as a member of the emergency response meeting.

The Justice Party does not hold meetings of the delegation and members of parliament until the next party’s by-election, but conducts routine party affairs, including handling sexual harassment, at emergency response meetings.

As to whether to nominate for the 4·7 re-election by-election, he said, “We will discuss and decide from tomorrow at the emergency response meeting.” Regarding the possibility of no nomination, Won-nae Kang said, “We have discussed the no-nomination for the re-election and by-election since yesterday, and we are collecting the opinions of the chairman of the city and provincial party.”

However, Chief Spokesman Chung said, “The delegation cannot arbitrarily decide whether or not to be nominated under the official party procedure.” As the candidate for the mayor of Seoul, Seoul City Councilman Kwon Soo-jeong and the Busan Mayor Kim Young-jin have already completed registration.

The Justice Party, who has fallen into the’Kim Jong-cheol shock’, cannot easily escape from the feeling of self-destruction that its identity as a progressive party has collapsed.

However, it was evaluated that the desperate movement to fundamentally block the secondary abuse by emphasizing the’recovery of the victim’s daily life’ is contrary to the attitude of the Democratic Party in the past.

Before the delegation meeting on the 26th, Kim Yoon-ki, acting representative of the Justice Party, said, “I will firmly deal with all secondary abuses, including the theory of responsibility for the victim and the theory of sympathy for the perpetrator. If you find the content of the second offense on our website and SNS, please report it.”

Vice President Bae Bok-joo, head of the Gender Human Rights Headquarters, is also preparing internal innovation plans, such as a full investigation of sexual abuse issues in the party, the establishment of an independent organization for the gender human rights headquarters, and an inspection of the sexual violence prevention education system.

Meanwhile, Rep. Hye-young Jang expressed regret for the civic group that criminally accused CEO Kim Jong-cheol against his intention this afternoon.

Rep. Jang told Facebook, “Even though I, the victim, expressed my desire for a community solution, I express my great regret that I unilaterally proceeded with criminal charges against the perpetrator without any communication with me.” It wasn’t for the perpetrators that I decided not to proceed, but for myself.”
