Vice Chairman Kim Byung-ji and Lee Chun-soo joined as Social Contribution Committee Chairman

Reporter Park Ji-hyuk = Chairman Chung Mong-gyu, who succeeded in being the 3rd president of the Korea Football Association, announced the launch of the 3rd term with a radical reorganization of the executive department. Ewha Womans University professor Hong Eun-ah, a former judge, was elected as the first female vice-chairman.
The Korean Football Association held a general meeting of delegates at the Jongno-gu Football Center on the 27th and began the third term of office for Chairman Chung, who took office as the 54th President of the Association.
22 executives and 2 auditors were appointed, up to 6 vice chairmen, 5 subcommittee chairs, and 11 board members.
The appointment was made by meticulously grasping the expertise in each business area, but it was quite unconventional.
First, Ewha Womans University professor Hong Eun-ah, a former referee, was appointed as the vice chairman. He is the first female vice president ever.
New Vice-Chairman Hong was the youngest person in Korea to set the record for the appointment of an international judge at the age of 23 in 2003 when he was attending Ewha Womans University.
In 2010, he served as the first non-British referee in the England Women’s FA Cup final. In the opening match of the 2010 FIFA Women’s Under 20 (U-20) World Cup in Germany, he blew the whistle as the referee. This is the first Korean referee experience for the opening game of the FIFA tournament.
Since 2013, he has worked as a referee instructor and referee evaluator for the Asian Football Federation (AFC), served as an association director, and was appointed as a FIFA referee technical instructor in 2019.

In addition, Kim Byeong-ji, the chairman of the Sports Culture Promotion Agency, Kim Dae-eun, the president of the Jeonbuk Football Association, the vice chairman of the Jeonbuk Football Association, the vice-chairman of the Jeonbuk Football Association, the professor Lee Yong-su, and the vice-chairman of Choi Young-il were also named.
The five subcommittee chairs aimed at maintaining consistency in the implementation of existing policies. Previously, Pan-gon Kim, Chairman of the Power Reinforcement Committee, Geung-Yeon Jo, Chairman of the Competition, Daewoo Yoo, Chairman of the Ethics Committee, and Chairman Seo Chang-hee were re-elected.
Lee Chun-soo, former head of the Incheon United Power Reinforcement Office, one of the leading players in the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup semifinal, was newly appointed as the chairman of the Social Contribution Committee.
Former director Park Kyung-hoon was appointed as the managing director in charge of the association’s housekeeping. Secretary-General Jeon Han-jin was reappointed.
The board of directors has also changed drastically. In order to reflect the voices of the field in the policy, people from elementary schools to pros were recruited, while people from various fields such as broadcasting, game supervisors, and administrators were appointed.
Assistant Director-General of the Professional Football Federation, Park Park, former head of Seoul E-Land FC, Oh Seung-in, director Kwangwoondae, Yang Seung-woon, former director of Kwang-Driving Technical High School, Han Sang-shin, former coach Lee Dong-jung, and Choi Kwang-won, coach Daedong-cho were appointed to represent each part. In addition, Professor Park Chae-hee, Korea Sports University’s Sports Supervisor, Kim Jin-hee, and announcer Shin A-young will join the board.
For the administrative audit, Kang Seong-deok, president of Chungbuk Football Association and Lee Tae-ho, former vice president of Samil Accounting Firm, are reappointed.

Regarding the appointment of the executive department, Chairman Chung said, “Over 60% of the board of directors has been newly formed, excluding sub-committee chairs that need policy continuity. While the average age is younger to the early 50s, the average age is moderate to female executives, including the first female vice-chairman. I plan to organize and lead the change of the association.”
In addition, the articles of incorporation for the term of office of executives were revised. The existing executives’ term of office was four years, but the 54th executive department changed the term of offices of executives excluding the chairman to two years. The intention is to determine whether or not to continue working by evaluating the two years of activities.
Last year, the settlement amount was also approved. In 2020, the association recorded an income of 6.48 billion won and an expenditure of 70.29 billion won. Compared to the previous year’s 2019 settlement plan (income 94.15 billion won, expenditure 92.1 billion won), income decreased by 29.4% and expenditure decreased by 23.8%.
As various competitions and competitions were canceled due to Corona 19, the entrance fee revenue decreased by 78.2% to 60 million won, 99.3% compared to the previous year, and the broadcasting rights revenue to 2.23 billion won. On the other hand, it minimized losses by reducing expenses by about 22 billion won through efforts to reduce costs.
An official of the association said, “Even in a poor situation where major incomes are drastically reduced in the aftermath of Corona 19, all executives and employees participated to reduce costs, and we were able to alleviate the extent of losses that were initially expected.”
