According to the culture and legal circles on the 22nd, her daughter Baek filed a petition to the Seoul Family Court on October 28 last year for a trial to initiate adult guardianship with Yoon Jeong-hee as the case.
The intention is to designate himself as a domestic guardian on behalf of Yoon Jung-hee, who suffers from Alzheimer’s dementia. The guardian acts as a legal representative and has authority over personal, property, and inheritance within the limits specified by the court.
This was the time when the appeals trial by Yoon Jung-hee’s younger brothers was in progress against the case of the guardian judge filed by Baek in France. After the final hearing on September 29 of last year, the Paris High Court finally raised his hand on November 3 of the same year.
An official on the side of Baek told Yonhap News, “I don’t know how this was going on in France, but in Korea, I separately requested the court to designate Baek as an adult guardian last year.”
The case is currently being handled by the Seoul Family Court alone. The court commissioned the National Mental Health Center for an assessment to accurately confirm the condition of Yoon Jeong-hee, and it is decided whether to designate a guardian through an assessment procedure.
It proceeds independently of the two judgments of the French courts that did not admit the claims of the brothers, but the court may refer to the decisions of the French courts.

When Paik is appointed as a domestic guardian, he will protect Yoon Jeong-hee’s identity and manage Yoon Jeong-hee’s domestic assets. It is known that there are two apartment houses and a large number of deposits in the name of Yoon Jeong-hee.
The possibility of the younger siblings raising objections, as in France, cannot be ruled out. There is a possibility that younger siblings in Korea will participate in this judgment case as a stakeholder or participant to respond, or even if the request of Mr. Baek is accepted at the first trial, they will appeal through appeal and reappeal.
On the other hand, in order to ensure neutrality and objectivity, a third party may be the guardian. In the case of guardianship against Lotte Group Chairman Gyeok-ho Shin, the court designated Sun as the guardian, and in another case, the social welfare corporation was designated as guardian.
Currently, Yoon Jeong-hee’s five younger brothers are in conflict with their daughter Baek and her husband, Pianist Paik Kun-woo (75), over the designation of guardians. Some younger siblings posted a post on the Blue House National Petition bulletin board stating that Yoon Jeong-hee was neglected by Baek’s side in France, and it became controversial.
Yoon Jung-hee and Paik Kun-woo always accompany overseas performances and were famous for their’parakeet couple’, so this controversy struck the cultural world.
