When the Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yeon publicly suggested that the two former presidents Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye would be amnesty to President Moon Jae-in, the Supreme Open Democratic Party’s chief committee member Joo Jin-hyung pointed out that it is “inappropriate”. The reason why CEO Lee is publicly discussing amnesty at this moment is doubtful.

Joo Jin-hyung, the top member of the Open Democratic Party, who served as the Democratic Party’s 20th vice president of general election policy, said on his Facebook page on the 2nd, “Even though the president makes a suggestion with the president’s own authority, the president makes the decision.”

He added, “Why are you making a suggestion for amnesty openly,” he said. “Even if you make a suggestion, it is appropriate to communicate your opinion privately if you are for the president.” He added, “If you’re on the same side, you don’t do this in public.”

The state’s highest committee member criticized, “If the president pardons after the ruling party’s representative and the next influential candidate for the presidential office make such a public proposal, it will look as though Lee Nak-yeon suggested it.”

Therefore, he pointed out, “If there is something that President Moon gains through the amnesty, it will be like Lee Nak-yeon intercepted, and even if there is something that President Moon loses, this will also be like Lee Nak-yeon taking part in advance.”

The state’s highest committee member said, “I am not a person who does not know this much, so what would it mean if I did so? It may be the remark that came out after having had a preliminary relationship with the Blue House, as if it was made to announce it.

However, he expressed doubts about Lee’s behavior, saying, “The appearance of the ruling party’s representative publicly advocating a pardon is neither appropriate nor natural, and it makes me think that there is some questionable corner.”

Earlier, CEO Nak-yeon Lee said, “I will make a direct suggestion to the President when the appropriate time comes,” and said, “It will be a big key for national unity” regarding the pardon of two former Presidents Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye the day before. He also said, “I’m going to make a suggestion apart from the supporters’ pros and cons.”
