34 confirmed cases at Jinju International Prayer Center

According to Gyeongnam Province on the 11th, 43 confirmed cases (No. 1556 to 1598, Gyeongnam) were added in Gyeongnam from 5 pm the previous day to 1:30 pm the day. All 43 people are localized. Thirty-nine were contacted by the confirmed person, and 4 were investigating the route of infection. By region, there are 30 people in Jinju, 5 people in Changwon, 4 people in Geoje, 3 people in Yangsan, and 1 person in Gimhae.

Of the 30 confirmed cases in Jinju, 29 (Gyeongnam 1563~1591) are visitors to the Jinju International Prayer Center. The first confirmed case related to Jinju International Prayer Center occurred on the 7th. The confirmed person (Gyeongnam No. 1486) is reported to have visited the prayer center on the 3rd. Afterwards, the family and four acquaintances of the confirmed patient were tested positive. On the 11th, 29 confirmed cases were added at the prayer center where the confirmed person went, and the number of confirmed cases related to the Jinju International Prayer Center increased to 34.

Gyeongnam-do conducted an epidemiological investigation on the facility after being notified on the 10th of the visit of a confirmed patient in Gyeonggi-do and Busan to the Jinju International Prayer Center. As a result, during the investigation by receiving a list of 180 people who visited the prayer center from the 3rd to the 8th, it was confirmed that two existing confirmed patients in the province also visited the prayer center on the 3rd. Jinju International Prayer Center’s first confirmed case, Gyeongnam 1486, is under investigation to determine how it was infected.

Gyeongnam Province has issued an administrative order that citizens who have visited the Jinju International Prayer Center in Sangbong-dong, Jinju City from the 1st of the past must undergo mandatory inspection. If it is confirmed without being inspected by the 18th, it plans to take legal action as well as request compensation. There are a total of 48 prayer halls in Gyeongnam. Gyeongnam Province announced that it would intensively inspect the quarantine status of other prayer centers and take necessary measures to prevent similar cases from occurring.

There have been three confirmed cases in the province related to the BTJ World Center in Sangju, Gyeongbuk, another religious organization. Gyeongnam-do and others are examining 116 people who were notified of visiting the BTJ Heating Center. Currently, three out of 67 people who have completed the test have been confirmed. Of the remaining 49, 7 are due to be tested, and 20 claim they have not visited the center. The remaining 22 are rejecting the test. Gyeongnam Province has issued an administrative order for visitors to the BTJ Universal Center to undergo diagnostic tests since November 27 last year.
