According to Celltrion, Chairman Seo took down the chairmanship of the board of directors of Celltrion and Celltrion Healthcare at the 30th regular shareholders’ meeting held at the Grand Ballroom on the 2nd floor of Songdo Convensia, Incheon at 10 am on the day.

Chairman Seo said, “10 years ago, I promised my employees that this company is not my own company, but that it is a company of shareholders and employees.” Said.

Chairman Seo added, “Vice President Jin-seok Seo (the eldest son of Chairman Seo) has joined the board as a member of the board instead of me, and the management will be divided into a role that professional managers do.” Chairman Seo announced his plans for retirement in 2019 and promised to separate ownership and management of the company.

Through the shareholders’ meeting, Seo’s eldest son Jin-seok Seo (37), Senior Vice President of Celltrion, was newly appointed as the executive vice president of Celltrion and Celltrion Pharmaceuticals, and his son Jun-seok Seo (34), Celltrion’s director, was newly appointed as the executive director of Celltrion Healthcare.

Vice President Seo Jin-seok is a former doctor of KAIST and currently serves as the head of the Celltrion product development division. From October 2017 to March 2019, he served as the CEO of Celltrion Skin Cure, a cosmetics subsidiary of Celltrion Group.

Director Seo Jun-seok is a Ph.D. at Inha University and is currently in charge of operating support at Celltrion. He joined Celltrion in 2017 as a manager, and in 2019, he became a director of an unregistered executive, and this time he will become a registered executive.

As Chairman Seo’s two sons join the board of directors of Celltrion Group, the merger process for the three companies is expected to proceed smoothly. Celltrion Group established Celltrion Healthcare Holdings, a holding company of Celltrion Healthcare, to merge with the three companies in September last year. Chairman Seo said, “The synergy effect of the merger of the three companies will be beneficial to shareholders as well.”
