[고양=스포츠서울 정다워기자] “Jeonbuk Hyundai has already achieved the best professional results, but we want to create a structure that will lead the K-League beyond that. I think that’s the point.”

Commissioner Park Ji-sung, who is commissioned as a Jeonbuk Hyundai adviser to begin full-fledged administrative work, expressed his feelings and determination at a press conference held at Hyundai Motor Studio in Goyang on the 21st. As reported in this magazine on the 18th, Park supports administrative tasks by serving as an advisor who advises on the recruitment of Jeonbuk players, the youth system, and overall management of the club. He served as an advisor to the Asian Football Federation (AFC) and the International Football Council (IFAB), and served as the head of the Youth Strategy Division at the Korea Football Association, but this is the first time he has received an official title from a professional soccer team, the flower of football administration. . Commissioner Park said, “I have been studying administration a lot after retirement. I got to do the administrative work faster than I thought. I am happy to be able to start in the K League. I look forward to working with Jeonbuk Hyundai in the future.”

Jeonbuk is an absolute leader in the league that achieved the first four consecutive years in the K League last year. When it comes to professional performance, there is no team to follow. It has a world-class clubhouse and is a popular club with an average of 10,000 or more spectators. Overall, there seems to be no shortage. However, Jeonbuk is not satisfied with this, and recruits Park to take a leap into the world. As a player, Park played in big clubs such as PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands) and Manchester United (England). Jeonbuk, the K-League’s best club, made a plan to reach the level of’untouchable’ that no one can touch by securing a powerful and structured system like those of Park’s tough teams.

Commissioner Park is at the center of the initiative. He said, “Jeonbuk spends the most budget in the K-League and is performing the best, but I want to create a structure that can lead the K-League further. I think that’s the point. I hope Jeonbuk will lead as a leader,” he said. As an administrator, I’m going to think of a direction to color the club as a whole. We need to investigate and study further in the future. The club should have a good local color. Finding identity in history. Based on these things, I will work as an administrator so that the club can find its own color.”

As an advisor in Jeollabuk-do, Park cares most about the youth system. Jeonbuk is the strongest team on the professional stage, but it is still evaluated as a latecomer in the youth part. Compared to Pohang Steelers, Suwon Samsung, and Ulsan Hyundai, the reality is that they are one step behind. There are also relatively few players from affiliated youth who are active in the professional stage. Commissioner Park said, “No matter how good you perform in a youth competition, we do not guarantee the success of a player. Regardless of their performance, we want to see how many players are sent to the first team and produce professional players. We are going to introduce the European method and system,” he said. He expressed the idea that establishing a youth system that can achieve a virtuous cycle structure is the top priority. It’s not just an abstract plan. Commissioner Park said, “There is a difference between reality and ideal. Bring as many good things as possible from reality. I think that it is my task to change it into a system unique to Korea.” He also brought out a blueprint to accomplish the work entrusted to him in a given environment.

As part of this, Commissioner Park is receiving training as a leader in the UK. “I don’t want to be a professional coach, but I’m interested in teaching youth. There are also questions about how to turn a soccer player into a leader. Knowing that part will help exchanges with the leader, so I am going through the leadership course late. I don’t have any thoughts of daughter until P-class. I try to pick up to B. I don’t even think about getting an A,” he explained.

Some point out that it’s not the role of’face madam’ in silly words, but that’s not the case. Commissioner Park must visit Jeonju once in the first quarter and four times in a season. There is also a fixed period of stay once you come. We start out as part-time jobs now, but in the future we may see them working in different positions. Commissioner Park said, “I have high expectations for starting my first job in Jeonbuk. Just imagining how it will develop is fun. Jeonbuk is strong and healthy, so I will help many clubs to become a learning team.”
