Jeonbuk Hyundai attacker Gyu-seong Cho enlisted

Jeonbuk Hyundai attacker Cho Gyu-sung is enlisted in the Armed Forces Sports Unit (Executive Vice President).

On the 3rd, the Armed Forces Sports Corps announced the successors of 14 first-time professional soccer players in 2021, including Cho Gyu-seong. On the 5th, Kyu-sung received training and entered the army training center on March 8.

After that, Gyu-sung Cho served for 1 year and 7 months in Kim Cheon (2nd Division), a member of the Armed Forces Sports Unit. After the conclusion of the agreement with Sangju, the director moved to Gimcheon. Accordingly, even though he ranked fourth in the K-League 1 last year, he will play the season in K-League 2 this year.

Cho Gyu-seong, who played for Kim Cheon, is expected to participate in the tournament as a soldier if the 2020 Tokyo Olympics start in July as scheduled.

Cho Gyu-seong, who was evaluated as’post Lee Dong-guk’, played 34 games last year, scored 8 goals, and did not perform as much as expected.

He played the role of pressing the opponent’s defender by moving back and forth between the front and the side with a strong amount of activity. As a former striker of the Olympic soccer team, he scored multi-goals in the final match against Daegu FC last season and gave Lee Dong-guk his 8th championship cup.

Prior to this, the goal that Cho Gyu-sung scored in the Asian Football Federation (AFC) U-23 Championship in Iran in January was selected as the 2020 Korea Football Association’Goal of the Year’.

An official from Jeonbuk Hyundai said, “To fill the position of Jo Gyu-seong, who left Jeonbuk Hyundai for a while, we have recruited striker Ilyuchenko, who was active in Pohang. “I will thoroughly prepare for the 2021 season, which opens.”
