It was confirmed that the first amount of vaccine for new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) assigned to the Jeollanam-do region was for 2,400 people.
Jeonnam-do is expected to finish the vaccination of 57,000 people including Corona 19 patients and workers at high-risk facilities medical institutions by the end of March, including the first volume.
In addition, if additional vaccines come in, vaccination medical personnel will be insufficient, and the plan is also being reviewed to introduce students to nursing colleges in the province.
According to the monthly vaccination plan for Corona 19 vaccination released by Jeollanam-do on the 1st, a total of 1.85 million people in the province are subject to vaccination.
The number of monthly vaccinations planned is 57,000 people by March, 471,000 people from April to June, 1033,000 people from July to September, and 289,000 people from October to December.
By the end of March, the targets for vaccination are Corona 19 patients, workers in treatment hospitals, inpatients and workers in nursing homes such as nursing facilities, medical personnel and response personnel at high-risk medical institutions.
In April-June, residents and workers of COVID-19 vulnerable facilities, elderly people 65 years of age or older, and health care workers working at medical institutions are inoculated.

In July-August, when vaccination for the general public is in full swing, adults with chronic diseases, essential personnel such as fire fighting police, education and childcare facilities workers, and adults aged 19-64 will receive the vaccine.
After October, children and adolescents, pregnant women, unvaccinated and secondary vaccinations receive the vaccine.
The monthly plan is structured like this, but it is unknown whether the vaccination will be delivered as scheduled.
The number of vaccines for the first vaccination in February allocated to Jeollanam-do is only 2,400 people, and it is unclear whether additional supplies can be supplied in time.
Difficulties are expected in moving and storing vaccines and securing personnel.
In the case of the Honam region, the first vaccination and training of medical personnel are expected to take place at Chosun University Hospital.
The vaccination sites in Jeollanam-do are expected to be in Suncheon, Gangjin, and Mokpo medical centers first, but due to the nature of the vaccine, it is difficult to move and store, so there is concern that it will disrupt the planned vaccination schedule.

In the case of AstraZeneca vaccine expected at the end of this month, it is better because it is stored in a refrigerator at 2-8 degrees.
The policy to manage vaccines by securing regional vaccination centers, but no specific plans and schedules have been prepared yet.
There is a concern that there will be a shortage of medical personnel to vaccinate the vaccine, but Jeollanam-do is also considering a plan to introduce 3rd to 4th grade nursing students in the province.
In addition, a plan is also being sought to receive support for 200 nurses from 119 paramedics and personnel at the Hampyeong Armed Forces Integrated Hospital.
“There are a lot of residents living in islands and remote areas due to the characteristics of the region,” said Kang Yeong-gu, head of the Jeonnam-do Health and Welfare Bureau.
