[아시아경제 권재희 기자] In Japan, where the corona 19 vaccination began on the 17th, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga’s vaccination period is drawing attention from the public.

Some say that taking the position of the prime minister to represent the whole people should be given first, while Prime Minister Suga, the party, is in a position to wait for the turn to receive the vaccination.

According to the Mainichi Newspaper on the 24th, the timing of Prime Minister Suga’s vaccination has not been decided yet.

The order of vaccination announced by the Japanese government begins with medical workers, followed by elderly people over 65 years old (about 36 million people).

The exact timing of the vaccines is flexible, and the Japanese government plans to start vaccinating a group of senior citizens aged 65 and over, including Prime Minister Suga, who is 72, in April.

If the prescribed vaccination sequence is followed, it is expected that Prime Minister Suga will be vaccinated only after April.

Concerned with this, Liberal Democratic Party lawmaker Tatsuo Fukuda suggested at the House of Representatives Budget Committee held on the 22nd that “the prime minister is responsible for the lives of 125 million people,” and suggested that Prime Minister Suga receive the vaccination first.

However, Prime Minister Suga denied the possibility of vaccination first, saying, “If my turn comes, I will take the initiative, but the order is decided based on the opinions of experts.”

It is analyzed that Prime Minister Suga’s attitude is conscious of the privilege controversy.

The Mainichi Shimbun reported that the government and legislative functions may be paralyzed if there is a collective infection of the ministers and members of the National Assembly, who gather in the regular assembly every day. He said there is a sense of caution that it will be.

The newspaper predicted that the timing of Prime Minister Suga’s vaccination will depend on the trend of public opinion, taking into account the effect of promoting vaccine safety after vaccinations over the age of 65 have begun.
