[아시아경제 권재희 기자] It is reported that the Japanese government has been postponed once and internally concluded with the direction of canceling the Tokyo Olympics scheduled for July this year due to the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) pandemic.

On the 21st (local time), the British Daily The Times reported that the Japanese government is considering a plan to host the Tokyo Olympics in 2032, citing an anonymous Japanese ruling party official.

The official said, “There is a consensus that the Olympics will not be held.”

Japan delayed the hosting of the Olympics by one year four months ahead of the Olympics due to the spread of Corona 19 around the world early last year.

Then, as Corona 19 spreads again in Japan recently, there are voices saying that the Olympics must be postponed again or held without spectators.

However, regarding this current, Chairman Thomas Bach of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said in an interview with Japan’s Kyodo News Agency that the Tokyo Olympics will be held as scheduled this summer and there is no alternative.
