Due to the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19), the summer Tokyo Olympic Games, which will be held in July, will not be allowed to participate in the summer Tokyo Olympic Games after a one year delay.

Japan’s Mainichi Newspaper reported on the 3rd that the government plans to hold the game without foreign spectators.

The Maicini newspaper cited sources from the Olympic Organizing Committee, saying that the final decision on the proposal will be made within this month.

The Japanese government is in discussions with other related organizations such as the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

A source close to the government told Mainichi that “under the current situation, we cannot accept spectators from abroad.”

Officials of the Japanese Olympic Games believe that the entry of foreign visitors to the country can increase public anxiety due to concerns about the spread of the coronavirus and various variants.

Officials are known to be investigating the possibility of accommodating only domestic spectators and the number of people limited to the stadium.

Vaccination has begun in Europe and the United States, but the Japanese government wants to prevent further delays or cancellations.

From the beginning of the year, the Japanese government has expressed its will to push forward this year’s Summer Olympics to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The Tokyo 2020 Olympics was originally scheduled to be held in July 2020, but it was postponed in the same year when Corona 19 spread to a pandemic (a global infectious disease).

The Summer Olympics are scheduled from July 23 to August 8, 2021, and the Paralympic Games from August 24 to September 5, respectively.
