It was surveyed that only about 1 in 10 Japanese people think they should hold the Tokyo Olympics scheduled for July this year. Reported on the 25th that only 11% answered “it should be held this summer” when asked how to do the Tokyo Olympics in a telephone poll (1,647 respondents) conducted on the 23rd to 24th. It was 30 percentage points less than the survey in October last year (41%) three months ago. On the other hand, 51% of respondents said they should postpone again, and 35% said they should stop. 3% did not respond. 81% of respondents in Tokyo, the venue of the Olympic Games, said, “You have to replay (42%) or stop (39%).” Only 14% thought it should be held this summer. Yoshihide Suga’s government approval rating plummeted again. The Suga government’s approval rating was 33%, down 6 percentage points from the survey last month. The government approval rating has reached the level of half in four months since its launch in September last year (65%). Failure to respond properly to the spread of Corona 19 infection seems to be the main reason for the decline in approval ratings. 63% of respondents said the Japanese government’s response to the corona was inappropriate, and 80% pointed out that it was “too late” when it declared the corona emergency again.
