Japan cancels the torch relay on the Osaka public road in the aftermath of coronavirus

[아시아경제 우수연 기자]As the number of new confirmed cases of Corona 19 in Japan rose to 3,000 a day, the scheduled torch relay on the Osaka public road was cancelled. Instead, torch relay runners were gathered in Osaka Park to perform a torch relay among non-audience.

On the 13th, the torch relay was carried out in a way of running 15 sections in succession at the Expo Commemorative Park in Osaka, Japan. It runs 200m per runner, and general visitors were not allowed due to the aftermath of Corona 19.

Initially, the torch relay was scheduled as a relay event on the Osaka public road, but due to the re-proliferation of Corona 19 in the Osaka area, the torch relay on the public road was canceled.
