According to the Gyeonggi-do consumer price trend released on the 2nd by the Gyeongin Regional Statistics Office, the consumer price index for January was 106.61 (2015 = 100), up 0.7% from the same month last year.

Gyeonggi-do consumer prices declined to -0.6% in October last year, and remained unchanged in November, but rose 0.1% in December.

By item, both products and services rose 0.9% and 0.5% respectively from last year.

Agricultural and fisheries products rose the most at 10.3%, while rent (0.7%) and personal services (1.7%) also rose.

Industrial products (-0.6%), electricity, water, gas (-4.7%), and public services (-2.5%) fell from the same period last year.

By purpose of expenditure, food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.9%), food and lodging (1.1%), other goods and services (2.2%), health care (1.0%), household goods and housekeeping services (1.1%), clothing and shoes ( 0.7%) rose.

On the other hand, transportation (-3.0%), education (-3.2%), communication (-1.3%), and entertainment and culture (-0.8%) declined.

The living price index rose 0.5% over the same period last year.

The fresh food index rose 9.7% from a year ago as fresh fruits (23.1%) rose significantly.

Meanwhile, the national consumer price index for January was 106.47, up 0.6% from the same month last year.
