Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong presided over a meeting of the set division presidents at Samsung Research in Umyeon-dong, Seoul on the 6th, and reviewed the future mid- to long-term strategies such as next-generation 6G communication technology and artificial intelligence (AI) R&D status.
Vice-Chairman Lee received a report on the progress of research on next-generation communication technology, securing server technology, and application status of AI technology products at the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Hyunsuk Kim, Head of CE Department, Dongjin Ko, Head of IM Department, Yunho Choi, Head of Management Support Department, Sebastian Seung, Head of Samsung Research Research Institute, and Presidents of Each Business Unit.
Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong said, “Securing future technology is a matter of survival. Read change and preoccupy the future. Let’s focus solely on enhancing the company’s value and contributing to society. As a leading company, let’s have tens of times, hundreds of times responsibility.”
After Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong checked the system semiconductor business as his first step in the new year, Samsung Research presided over the prior technology development meeting to secure future growth engines in the post-corona era.
Vice-Chairman Lee recently revealed that it is a natural responsibility to discover new businesses, expand business and grow the company, and that he will grow the company and industrial ecosystem with a sense of mission.
Vice-Chairman Lee selected core technologies essential for realizing the 4th Industrial Revolution such as AI, 5G, and semiconductors for electronic devices in 2018 as Samsung’s’Future Promotion Project’ and is spurring new business development.
Samsung Research, which Vice Chairman Lee visited on this day, has ▲Global AI Center ▲Next Generation Communication Research Center ▲Software Innovation Center, etc., and is in charge of research and development on advanced technologies in future promising fields.

Meanwhile, on the 5th, Vice Chairman Lee inspected the network equipment production line at the Suwon plant and visited the Global Technology Center (GTC) to preside over a production technology innovation meeting.
