The results of a public opinion poll came out on the 11th that Gyeonggi Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung and former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol are in a very thin battle with the first place in the next presidential candidate suitability survey. In particular, the approval rating of former President Yun has more than doubled in one week.

Four public opinion polls, including Embrain, Casestat, Korea Research, and Korea Research, conducted a national index survey on 1003 men and women over the age of 18 in the country on the last 8-10 days. As a result, Governor Lee fought a fierce battle within the margin of error (±3.1% points at 95% confidence level) with 25% for Governor Lee and 24% for Jeon Yun.

In particular, the approval rate for former President Yoon was 9% in the one-week survey in March, before his resignation, but in this survey conducted after his resignation, the approval rate increased by 15 percentage points and more than doubled. 45% of respondents said “I agree with Yun’s next presidential election” and 42% say “I disagree”.

Among the progressive supporters, Governor Lee received 32% and former CEO Lee 16%, followed by conservative supporters, former President Yoon 23%, Ahn 10%, and Congressman Hong 8%.

On the other hand, 51% of President Moon Jae-in’s governmental administration was negatively evaluated as “I’m doing it wrong.” 44% of them were positively saying “You’re good”. Compared to the previous survey, the negative evaluation rose 6 percentage points.

In terms of political party support, the strength of the Democratic Party and the people showed differences within the margin of error. The Democratic Party and the People’s Power were 31% and 26%, respectively, and the Justice Party and the Nationalist Party each had 5% approval ratings.
