The Korean Volleyball Association canceled the award for the ‘great father’s ideal’, which was awarded to Kim Kyung-hee (55), the mother of Jae-young Lee and Lee Da-young (Lee Sang Heungkuk Life), who caused controversy through school violence.

The Korean Volleyball Association announced on the 15th that it will cancel the award of the’great father’s ideal’ received by Sister Lee’s mother and national volleyball player Kim Kyung-hee at the ‘2020 Volleyball Night Event’.

The association recognized Kim’s achievements in raising the two players as the best players in Korea, and presented them with the’great parent’s ideal’ last year, but this decision was made on the recent issues of violence between the two players at school. The association plans to present the cancellation of Mr. Kim’s award as an agenda to the board of directors, which will be held soon.

Kim made a name for himself in the 1980s, and participated in the 1988 Seoul Olympics as a national representative.

Kim also had a controversy over collective corporal punishment when he was a player. At the 9th Presidential Cup National Men’s and Women’s Volleyball 1st Tournament held at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on January 20, 1992, when Kim was playing for the Hyosung Women’s Volleyball Team, all 16 Hyosung players competed with bruises on their thighs. did.

It was investigated that the bruise was caused by the then manager Lee Sang-ho assaulting the players in Anyang-si accommodation after losing a match against Fujifilm two days ago. However, there was a controversy over whether Kim, who was the captain at the time, had no blood bruises, so that he and the director joined the assault together.

On the other hand, previously, Sister Lee’s team, Heungkuk Life Insurance, punished them for an indefinite suspension, and the Korean Volleyball Association plans to respond to the controversy over school violence with a zero-tolerance principle, such as depriving them of their national qualifications.
