Experts have suggested that vaccination for the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) needs to be used with advanced hospital facilities rather than only 250 vaccination centers nationwide. It is pointed out that there is a need to prepare for emergencies that may occur in the field.

Lee Jae-gap, a professor of infectious medicine at Hallym University’s Sungshim Hospital, said on his Facebook page on the 26th, “It seems that we are making a plan to do vaccination only through the vaccination center, excluding medical institutions such as Pfizer or Moder.” It would be good to consider installing it in university hospitals or general hospitals.”

In addition, he added, “It is possible to consider entrusting some of the vaccination center operations to an advanced hospital.” This is because when an emergency occurs, it can more effectively cope with emergency situations, such as transporting patients to a hospital.

The United States and the United Kingdom have also started vaccination against Corona 19 in university hospitals or general hospitals. Of course, as the number of vaccinations has increased, a large vaccination center is also being operated.

In addition, Professor Jae-gap Lee explained, “When vaccination begins, there is a high possibility that numerous questions will be poured into the vaccination center.”

In addition to vaccination centers, elderly risk groups, such as patients in nursing hospitals, may be difficult to move out for direct vaccination. If a team to deliver and inoculate vaccines is formed for them, there may be situations where experts need to communicate with the field immediately.

Professor Lee Jae-gap said, “I hope that the vaccination can be started in a stable situation from the beginning, rather than going impatiently.”

Meanwhile, the government plans to purchase 250 freezers capable of cryogenic freezing, designate a separate inoculation center, and place a freezer there. The AstraZeneca and Janssen vaccines, which can be distributed at low temperatures, are vaccinations at about 10,000 medical institutions nationwide, just like the existing vaccinations.

According to vaccination priorities, vaccination candidates will be guided to a location designated by health authorities to receive the vaccine. An official from the Agency for Disease Control and Prevention explained, “Vaccines don’t have the right to choose a vaccine. They go to a place designated by the health authorities and get the vaccine.”
