Ja-Yeol Koo Chairman of Martial Arts “We will strive to revitalize the exhibition industry”

Koo Ja-yeol, chairman of the International Trade Association, promised to make an effort to revitalize the exhibition industry.

Chairman Koo visited the’International Medical Equipment & Hospital Equipment Exhibition (KIMES 2021)’ held at COEX, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 18th, and encouraged the exhibitors and participating companies.

The Martial Arts said that it would be difficult to hold the exhibition as the draft of the 4th stage of social distancing recently announced by the Central Accident Control Headquarters was significantly strengthened compared to the existing one.

According to the martial arts, it is estimated that when the new social distancing standard is applied, the number of visitors in the first stage will decrease by about 40% and in the second stage, the number of visitors will decrease by more than 57%.

Exhibitions are an important means for companies to promote new technologies and products, discover overseas buyers, and expand exports.

The trade industry is complaining that the exhibition industry is shrinking due to the excessive limit on the number of people to keep distance.

Accordingly, the martial arts government requested the government to allow the exhibition to be held without a limit on the number of visitors until the second stage of the new social distancing standard.

Lee Dong-gi, head of the Innovation Growth Division of the Trade Association, said, “Excessive personnel restrictions may block SMEs’ exhibition marketing opportunities and increase the difficulties of the exhibition industry, which is the national trade infrastructure. A reasonable standard for limiting personnel is needed.
