On the 26th, Yonhap News met with Kim Rak-hwan, 45, the head of a nursing home facility in Samsan-dong, Bupyeong-gu, who is an inoculator at a public health center in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, and heard the feelings of vaccination.
On this day, Mr. Rak-Hwan Kim received the Corona 19 vaccine through interviews such as whether he had any pain or allergies. The process of vaccinating the left shoulder with a syringe was over in no time. Kim also told other subjects who were waiting after the vaccination was over, “(Vaccine needle) doesn’t hurt.”
Mr. Kim explained about the symptoms that appeared after getting the Corona 19 vaccine, “I was stiff for about 15 minutes after vaccination, and then I had a little dizziness. After about 17 minutes, the stiffness and dizziness disappeared.”
Mr. Kim said, “Everyone may have a fear of vaccination, but I hope everyone gets well. It is a difficult situation, such as a closed business appears in a building with a nursing home. I hope that the vaccine will end (Corona 19).”
Kim received AstraZeneca’s Corona 19 vaccine that day. Those who received the vaccination, such as Mr. Kim, waited at the public health center for 20 to 30 minutes and checked for any unexpected adverse reactions before returning home.
Corona 19 vaccination began at around 9 am on the 26th at public health centers and nursing hospitals nationwide.
The targets of vaccination are those who are hospitalized, inhabited, and workers under the age of 65 at nursing hospitals, nursing facilities, mental care and rehabilitation facilities nationwide, and are vaccinated with AstraZeneca vaccine. On the first day of vaccination, 5266 residents and workers in 213 nursing facilities nationwide get the vaccine.
The first inoculation in Korea was Lee Kyung-soon (61), a nursing care provider who works at the Sanggye Nursing Home in Nowon-gu, Seoul. Lee Gyeong-soon received AstraZeneca’s Corona 19 vaccine at the Nowon-gu public health center this morning.
The government did not officially designate the’No. 1 vaccinator’, but Lee Gyeong-soon received the vaccine 15 minutes earlier than 9:00 am, the time when the initial vaccination began, and became the first inoculation.
