“I don’t know how long I have seen the normal briefing.”

This is the testimony of CNN sign anchor Wolf Bleecher who watched the debut briefing of spokesman Jen Saki held at the White House briefing room on the 20th (local time). It was shortly after the inauguration ceremony of US President Joe Biden was completed, and before full-scale events such as celebration performances ended, but White House spokesman Saki held the first briefing. He said, “We have a lot of work to do.”

CNN’s White House reporter said in the connection immediately after the briefing, “I don’t know how long it has been since the briefings have been held at the White House, where common sense works and each other gave each other a warm word.” This is a direct criticism of the briefing during the days of former President Donald Trump. At the beginning of his inauguration, President Trump gave CNN reporters a face-to-face face saying, “You are fake news,” at a reporter briefing that was broadcast live around the world. CNN has also established a confrontation over the four years of Trump’s tenure, clearly revealing anti-Trump tendencies.

However, US media other than CNN are also in the mood to give a passing score for Saki. Born in 1978, he is a mother of two children, and his skillfulness is receiving favorable reviews. Saki served as the first deputy spokesperson for the White House in 2009, the first year after President Barack Obama took office, and the following year moved to chief of public affairs. Since 2013, he served as a spokesperson for the State Department and delivered foreign and security policies for about two years until the spring of 2015. Afterwards, the end of Obama’s second period returned to the White House Public Affairs Manager. He has also worked closely with President Biden, who was Obama’s vice president. From’Obama’s mouth’, it is now’Biden’s mouth’.

The strength of spokesman Saki is the ability to communicate calmly and firmly, as well as being able to penetrate all of the current issues. He has been working hard with reporters due to his long life as a public office. At the first briefing on this day, Saki responded to the pouring questions in a relaxed manner and showed off his acquaintance by calling reporters by name rather than last name. “Today is a historic day,” he said at the start of the briefing. “President Biden asked me to share information with reporters transparently, above all, and respond honestly.”

At the first briefing, the question of whether President Biden’s overseas travel schedule would continue to be trusted by former President Christopher Ray, FBI Director. Saki responded sincerely, mixing jokes that it is difficult to say for sure because the president has only been in office for 7 hours. He also said, “There will be some disagreements between reporters and I in the future, and he is natural,” he said. “That is democracy.”

All those representing the Biden administration, led by Saki, are women. Saki told Reuters and Bloomberg at the time that “the number of children raised by seven women’s public affairs officers is six.”
