Amid the increasing number of hate crimes targeting Asians across the United States, an American illustration sticker maker was beaten by BTS and painted them bruised and injured.

According to CNN on the 18th, American sticker company’Tops’ unveiled a series of’Garbage Fail Kids’ Shame Awards’ sticker card series, which ridiculously depicted the major cast members of the Grammy Awards held on the 14th, on the online shopping mall.

In the sticker, the seven BTS members were portrayed as a mole with a face full of bruises and scars on the face of a mole game. It wasn’t a hammer that hit BTS members, but a gramophone, meaning the Grammy Awards trophy. Others usually drew it in the form of singing at the Grammy Awards, but only BTS had sadistic and masochistic appearances.

In social media, criticism poured out for discrimination against Asian artists. Then Tops said on Twitter, “I apologize to the angry consumers.” USA Today’s editor Fatima Paha urged the sticker not to dismiss this as just a comical happening, saying “It’s not satire, it’s totally racist.”

The distribution of the sticker took place the day after the Atlanta shootings killed eight people, including six Asian women. In the United States, hate crimes against Asian Americans have increased from about a year ago. In the last two months alone, at least 500 Asian-Americans have been targeted, with crimes ranging from verbal harassment to physical assault.
