Bucheon City announced on the 9th at 5 pm that 53 confirmed cases were caused by the altar.
This altar was founded in 1981 in the name of Jo Hee-sung, the Victory Altar of the Assemblies of God, Youngsenggyo. The building is located in Goean-dong.
The building consists of two buildings. One building has 2 basement levels and 4 floors above the ground (male dormitory with 4 floors above ground), and the other building has 1 floor above ground and 5 floors above ground (female dormitory with 5 floors above ground).
In one building, a clothing manufacturer called Bokwang Fashion is operated, and most of them are employed by new members. There are a total of 104 members and 35 members of Bokwang Fashion.
It was found that 21 male members and 16 female members were sleeping and eating in the dormitory.
The first infected person was confirmed as Shindo D, living in the dormitory of this building. Mr. D worked as a mathematics instructor at Ohinformatics Academy in Bucheon.
Mr. D had the first symptoms on the 3rd, but he was not tested, but when a student at this institute was confirmed on the 7th, he was tested and positive on the 8th. The quarantine authorities estimate that the academy student was first confirmed, but the indicator patient (the first patient) was Mr. D.
A total of 20 members were confirmed at the Victory Altar where Mr. D lives. 16 members of the male dormitory, 1 member of the female dormitory, 2 members of Bokwang Fashion, and 1 member of the orchestra were confirmed.
A total of 33 infected people came out at the tutoring academy where Mr. D worked as an instructor. This academy is located on the fourth floor of a four-story commercial building. There are 120 students, 6 employees, and 8 instructors.
Of these, 25 students, 5 family members, and 3 instructors were confirmed.
As a result of a city investigation, it was found that the altar complied with the quarantine regulations. During the recent ban on worship activities, the altar actually held non-face-to-face worship, and as the ban on worship activities was lifted, it was found that 30 or more people had small worship services.
However, it is being reviewed whether or not the quarantine regulations for the 4th and 5th floors of 2 buildings reported as neighborhood facilities other than religious facilities have not been observed.
The city and other quarantine authorities are conducting a thorough inspection on visitors to the Seungri Shrine and the institute.
A city official said, “Because the dormitory is not reported as a religious facility, it seems necessary to have a legal review on whether or not it is subject to quarantine rules violation,” he said. “All recent quarantine rules such as the ban on worship activities have been observed.”
