A smartphone-based on-demand pickup charging platform that can be used for rapid charging of electric vehicles is expected to be developed.

Kia announced on the 17th that it has signed a MOU to jointly develop an on-demand pickup charging platform with YW Mobile, a mobility solution company, at’Kia 360′ in Apgujeong on the 16th.

The business agreement ceremony was attended by key officials, including Kia Sales Promotion Strategy Office Manager Oh Yong-jin and YW Mobile CEO Lee Young-seok.

Kia EV6, which will be delivered to the domestic market in the second half of the year, will be equipped with a digital key that can open and close the vehicle door with a smartphone. Vehicle owners can use digital keys to allow acquaintances or external personnel to access the vehicle as needed.

Kia plans to use the digital key to request fast charging of the vehicle, so that the charging service can be used without meeting the charging service agent and customers.

For Kia and VW Mobile, when a customer using an electric vehicle applies for on-demand pickup and charging service through the’Kia VIK’ app, ▲ a dedicated charging staff visits the location requested by the customer to take over the vehicle and ▲ moves to a nearby charging station to quickly charge the vehicle. After that, ▲We plan to provide services by handing over the vehicle again at the point the customer wants.

Kia and YW Mobile improve customer satisfaction by guaranteeing a sufficient amount of charge (at the level of 80 to 90% of the total battery capacity) for daily driving, not a small amount (7 kWh to 20 kWh) for emergency charging in emergency situations such as discharge. It is a policy to do.
