Israel, which has declared’collective immunity’ as one of the countries with the highest vaccination rate for the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), begins an experiment in which the military unit takes off its mask.
The Israeli military authorities and the Ministry of Health are conducting an experiment that does not wear a mask from the 5th (local time) centering on some military units, local media such as The Times of Israel reported on the 4th.
The Ministry of Health said that units with more than 90% of soldiers who recovered after being infected with Corona 19 or who had completed two vaccinations a week before were the subjects of this experiment.
Units selected for testing do not wear masks when attending field training or activities from the 5th. However, when conducting indoor training, wear a mask and maintain social distancing as before.
The military officials said the experiment will last for three months and will track the health of all troops weekly, monitor the situation, and decide whether to stop or extend the experiment.
If the number of confirmed cases rapidly increases, the experiment should be stopped immediately even if 3 months have not passed.
Prior to this experiment, the military authorities declared on the 11th of last month that more than 85% of all soldiers had recovered after being infected with Corona 19 or had reached’collective immunity’ because they got antibodies after completing two vaccinations of the vaccine.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health stressed that, apart from this experiment, the general public must wear a mask in public places.
In Israel, more than 56% of the total population (approximately 9.3 million) 5257,000 people completed the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and about 4816,000 people, close to 52%, completed the second dose.
