In an interview with Ynet News on the 5th (local time), Professor Nahman Ash, the head of Israel’s Corona 19 quarantine, said in an interview with Ynet News, “We expect the duty of outdoor masks to be lifted by next week.”
Professor Ash emphasized that “the health ministry officials voted on the 4th and will hold a public hearing again within a few days to make a final decision,” he said. “I think our proposal will be implemented.”
However, Professor Ash said that it is still mandatory to wear masks indoors or at events where multiple people gather. “It is too early to release the mandatory indoor mask. “We haven’t discussed this issue yet,” he said. “This problem depends on the infection rate and infection data.”
Professor Ash said he was not concerned that the Israeli infection reproductive index rose to 0.71 on the same day. He said it was the aftermath of the Passover (March 27-April 4) festival and was expected.
Earlier, in December of last year, Israel imported the Pfizer vaccine and began vaccinating the public. Up to this day, about 4839,000 people, which account for 52% of the total population (about 9.3 million people), have completed the second dose.
Israel began lifting the blockade in early February, and now most commercial and public facilities are operating normally. Vaccines and those recovering after infection can use indoor businesses and religious facilities by presenting a certificate of’Green Pass’. Intern reporter Lee Jun-hyuk
