According to the’November 2020 Online Shopping Trend’ released by the National Statistical Office on the 5th, the online shopping transaction volume in November was 15,631 trillion won, up 17.2% from November 2018. Of the online shopping transactions, mobile shopping increased 21.9% to 10,259.8 billion won.

Compared to the previous month, online shopping transactions increased 5.8% and mobile shopping transactions increased 7.5%, respectively. The proportion of mobile shopping transactions among online shopping transactions was 68.1%, up 2.6 percentage points (P) from the same month last year (65.5%).

Compared to October, sports and leisure goods (-4.9%, -29.2 billion won) declined, but increased in home appliances, electronic and communication devices (14.1%, 24.2 billion won) and clothing (11.3%, 183.5 billion won).

The situation was similar for mobile shopping. The proportion of mobile shopping transactions among online shopping transactions by product group was highest in the order of food service (96.1%), e-coupon service (86.3%), and bags (79.6%).

Compared to the same month of the previous year, the total amount of transactions by product range increased by 21.1% to 10,2358 billion won, and specialized malls increased by 9.8% to 4.8273 trillion won. Compared to the previous month, the general mall increased 4.1% and the specialized mall increased 9.5%, respectively.
