Hyundai Motor Company(244,500 +1.24%)‘Ioniq 5’, the first dedicated electric vehicle of the company, finally took off the veil. The Ioniq 5, a semi-medium crossover utility vehicle (CUV) with an overall length, width, and height of 4640, 1890, and 1600 mm, has a space comparable to the Palisade, a large sports utility vehicle (SUV). In addition to supporting advanced functions such as semi-autonomous driving that help safe driving, a large number of sustainable eco-friendly materials have been applied.

The Ionic 5 is a semi-medium crossover utility vehicle (CUV) with an overall length, width, and height of 4640, 1890, and 1600mm. However, the distance between the axes, which is the standard for measuring the indoor space, reaches 3000mm, which is longer than the Palisade (2900mm) of a large sports utility vehicle (SUV). It is equipped with an innovatively spacious interior in a small size through E-GMP.

In order to present a new concept of interior space that future mobility will show, it is explained that the boundary between life and movement was broken by adding the theme of’comfortable living space’ based on E-GMP, an electric vehicle exclusive platform. Unlike internal combustion engine cars, it has a flat floor, so it is easy to move indoors.

The highlight of using indoor space is’Universal Island’. Universal Island, located in the center console seat of the existing internal combustion engine, has a 15W high-speed smartphone wireless charging system applied, has a tray structure divided up and down, and the lower tray can store luggage such as laptops and handbags. It can be moved back up to 140mm, so it can be used by passengers in the rear as well as the front seat.

As space is added, interior convenience features that were not found in existing vehicles were also provided. The front seats are equipped with a relaxation comfort seat (including footrests) that creates a zero-gravity posture, and the rear seats are provided with an electric sliding seat that can be pulled forward up to 135mm. The sheet thickness is also reduced by 30% compared to the existing internal combustion engine car, further improving the living space. It also had ample storage space. The front trunk was provided in the seat of the engine room of the internal combustion engine, and the rear seat trunk capacity was secured 531L.

From digital side mirrors to solar roofs… State-of-the-art, eco-friendly armed

Ioniq 5 also has a variety of advanced technologies. First of all, you can check the’digital side mirror’ where the camera and monitor system are connected and the’auto flush outside handle’ that automatically comes out of the door handle when you approach it with a smart key. The digital side mirrors applied for the first time by Hyundai Motors can greatly reduce blind spots and increase safety.

In addition, the entire roof was applied with fixed glass and a vision roof with an electric roll blind function was installed to improve the sense of openness. The solar roof was also selected to increase the driving distance up to 1,500 km per year (based on the average amount of solar radiation in Korea) by solar charging Can be used.

Semi-autonomous driving function that helps safe and convenient driving △Front collision avoidance assistance (FCA) △Highway driving assistance 2 (HDA 2) △Navigation-based smart cruise control (NSCC) △Rear side collision avoidance assistance (BCA) △Intelligent speed limit It has been applied in various ways, including assistance (ISLA), lane maintenance assistance (LFA), and remote smart parking assistance (RSPA). Through this, lanes can be changed only by manipulating the turn signals on the highway, and in the curved section, the speed is reduced by itself and parking is automatically performed.

Ioniq 5 supports a heat pump system that utilizes waste heat generated from electrical components for efficient electric vehicle driving for indoor heating, and a smart regenerative system 2.0 that automatically adjusts the amount of regenerative braking using traffic flow and navigation map information.

The world’s first 400V/800V multi-fast charging system that can use various charging infrastructures was also applied. You can also enjoy the V2L function that can supply general power (220V) to the outside of the vehicle, and the PnC function that allows you to immediately start charging by automatically performing authentication and payment as soon as the electric vehicle charging cable is connected.

Hyundai Motor Company delivers differentiated sensibility by applying eco-friendly materials that reflect sustainability to Ioniq 5. The door trim, door switches, and crash pads used paints containing bio-oils extracted from plants such as rape flowers and corn. For the sheet, yarn extracted from sugar cane and corn, and yarn made from recycled transparent plastic bottles were used. Vegetable oils are also used in the leather dyeing process to ensure that a sustainable method is applied in various areas.

Hyundai Motor Company operates the Ioniq 5 in two models, a long range with a 72.6 kWh battery and a standard with a 58.0 kWh battery. Long-range models with long mileage can also be purchased for 30 million won if they receive subsidies. It is expected to compete head-to-head with its attractive cost-performance ratio (price-performance) that is comparable to the American electric car Tesla.

The maximum driving distance for a single charge is 410 to 430 km based on the long-range rear-wheel drive model (as measured by Hyundai Motor’s domestic certification method). In the case of 350kW super-fast charging, 80% of the battery capacity can be filled in 18 minutes, and 100km can be driven by charging in 5 minutes.

The motor installed on the rear wheel has a maximum output of 160 kW and a maximum torque of 350 Nm, and a four-wheel drive method can be selected by adding a front wheel motor depending on the trim. The sum of all four wheels is a maximum output of 225 kW and a maximum torque of 605 Nm. It is possible to freely switch between 2WD and 4WD driving methods by separating the motor and drive shaft in driving situations.

From the 25th, Hyundai Motor Company will accept a pre-contract for two trims for the long range model exclusive and prestige. The price is in the early 50 million won range for exclusive and mid 50 million won for prestige. Considering the individual consumption tax benefits and purchase subsidy for electric vehicles, exclusive trims are expected to be available in the late 30 million won range. Hyundai Motor Company plans to disclose the standard model contract schedule and the final model price later.

Hyundai Motors explained, “If you purchase Ioniq 5, you can receive an EV individual consumption tax of up to 3 million won and a purchase subsidy of 12 million won based on Seoul,” and “You will be able to purchase exclusive trims in the late 30 million won.”
