Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 26th that the maximum driving distance of the Ioniq 5 long-range rear-wheel drive model on a single charge is 429km, based on the Ministry of Environment.

Hyundai Motor Company unveiled E-GMP, a platform exclusively for electric vehicles last year, and set the maximum mileage for a single charge to a domestic standard of 500km. However, by unveiling the IONIQ 5, the predicted mileage is 410-430 km (based on rear-wheel drive), and the industry has raised concerns that the actual official mileage may be less than 400 km. However, as the official maximum mileage of Ioniq 2WD is 429 km, the maximum mileage of 4WD is expected to be more than 400 km.

The long-range four-wheel drive and standard trim are undergoing certification by the Ministry of Environment and will be announced as soon as the certification is completed.

Hyundai Motor Company will start delivering the Ionic 5 Long Range 2WD model in Korea in April. The long range 4WD model will be delivered from May. The 2WD model is based on rear wheel drive.

On this day, Hyundai Motor Company announced that it will launch’IONIQ The Unique’, an electric vehicle membership-specialized service for customers who purchase IONIQ 5 next month. Customers who have signed up for membership can choose one of the nine services included in the four categories, such as △recharge, △car care, △leisure, and △life and culture, for free according to their taste. An official from Hyundai Motors said, “We will provide new and diverse lifestyles to customers with Ioniq the Uniqro, an electric vehicle membership-specialized service.

In order to improve the convenience of charging, Hyundai Motor Company plans to expand the operation of a’pickup and charge’ service that picks up customers’ electric vehicles, charges them, and delivers them after a pilot operation in Seoul from April. It plans to install 120 350kW ultra-fast chargers that can charge 10% to 80% of the battery in 18 minutes at 12 highway rest areas nationwide and 8 major city centers around the country this year.
