Hyundai Motor Company Ioniq 5 The mileage measurement approved by the Ministry of Environment is virtually finished. If Hyundai Motor Company officially announces it, it is expected that consumers will be able to determine the mileage of the Ioniq 5 more accurately.

On the 8th, the Transportation Environment Research Institute of the National Institute of Environmental Sciences, affiliated with the Ministry of Environment, announced that it had finished measuring the mileage of the Ioniq 5 electric vehicle. However, he also emphasized that the exact mileage can be determined only when Hyundai Motor Company is announced.

According to the Ministry of Environment’s automobile emission and noise certification system, Ioniq 5 is divided into four types: 19-inch long-range rear-wheel drive, 19-inch long-range rear-wheel drive built-in cam, 20-inch long-range rear-wheel drive, and 20-inch long-range rear-wheel drive built-in cam. It has received emission and noise certification.

Hyundai Motor Company unveiled its own measurement of mileage when it released the Ioniq 5 online last month.

Hyundai Motor Company announced that the driving range of the Ioniq 5 is 410-430 km based on long-range two-wheel drive. This is the result of the mileage measured by Hyundai Motor Company by applying the domestic Ministry of Environment certification method.

Usually, domestic electric vehicle mileage is measured by the manufacturer and reported to the Ministry of Environment and affiliated agencies. Largely, it measures the room temperature mileage and the low temperature mileage below -6.7 degrees Celsius. The low temperature mileage is measured with the heater turned on. In addition, mileage and efficiency are considered as important factors in the government subsidies for electric vehicles.

The Ionic 5 is equipped with a heat pump system that improves efficiency when operating the heater. For this reason, the low-temperature mileage is expected to travel between 350km and 400km on average.

The room temperature mileage is not expected to be significantly different from the mileage previously announced by Hyundai Motor Company. It is highly likely that the two-wheel drive model will be set at a higher mileage than the four-wheel drive model.
