Investing 3112 billion won to support the supply of new and renewable energy-::: Global Green Growth Media

Housing building 1435 billion won, convergence/region 167.7 billion won
BIPV 10.5 billion won support to promote new technology products

[이투뉴스] The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Minister Sung Yun-mo) subsidizes part of the cost to owners of houses and buildings that install new and renewable energy facilities. It allocated 143.5 billion won for housing building support and 167.7 billion won for convergence support and regional support. The Ministry of Industry and Industry announced the ‘2021 New and Renewable Energy Supply Support Project Plan’ on the 5th and received an application.

The new and renewable energy supply support project is a project that provides partial support for installation costs when the owner of a house or building installs new and renewable energy facilities such as solar power and geothermal heat for the purpose of self-consumption. The project scale was allocated 3112 billion won, an increase of 12% (33 billion won) compared to last year, reflecting the growing demand for new and renewable energy installations.

The housing/building support project is a project to support partial expenses when installing new and renewable energy facilities for self-consumption, such as detached houses, apartment houses, shopping centers and factories. Considering that the desired installation capacity, such as factories and distribution warehouses, is large, the building solar subsidy support capacity has been increased to 200kW starting this year.

In order to promote the commercialization of products developed by the national R&D, the facility trial supply project applied with new technology was 10 billion won, and the building integrated type lighting (BIPV) was allocated a budget of 10.5 billion won, and the subsidy was greatly increased.

The budget for convergence support and regional support was allocated 167.7 billion won, reflecting the demand for participation in the Green New Deal. Accordingly, a project to distribute two or more new and renewable energy sources, such as solar, solar, and geothermal, to the target of complex support such as housing, shopping malls, and public institutions can be supported by the Ministry of Industry.

Local governments can install new and renewable energy facilities in buildings, facilities, and social welfare facilities owned and managed through local support. The convergence/regional support project plans to select a local government or consortium to perform the project after receiving applications for the project next year. The final selection will be made in September of this year.

In this contest, the proportion of government spending of local support was raised to 50% in order to expand the supply of new and renewable energy facilities to local public facilities and social welfare facilities such as community centers and town halls.

Improvements have been made so that support can be made from the design stage for the installed capacity that exceeds the ratio of the local government’s mandatory installation of new and renewable energy. In addition, in consideration of the purpose of the convergence support project, additional points are given when supplying energy sources other than solar energy with a certain ratio or higher, such as solar heat and geothermal heat.

The Ministry of Industry predicts that 295MW of new and renewable energy facilities will be supplied by using idle spaces such as building rooftops and parking lots through this year’s supply support project. In this case, electricity bills of 58 billion won are expected to be reduced, and an annual carbon dioxide reduction effect of 170,000 tons is expected.
