The investigation team is planning to conduct a first round of investigation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and LH employees and announce the results in the middle of next week. The head of the investigation team was the first deputy chief of state Chang-won Choi. The State Affairs Coordination Office, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, the National Police Agency, Gyeonggi-do, and Incheon City participate in the investigation team.
In addition to 6 new towns in the third phase (Gwangmyeong Siheung, Namyangju Wangsuk, Hanam Gyosan, Gyeyang, Goyang, Changneung, Bucheon), Gwacheon, Gwacheon, and Jangsang, Ansan, etc. It was decided.
The subjects of the survey were all employees of public enterprises involved in the creation of new towns, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and LH, as well as public officials in departments in charge of new towns in the metropolitan local governments and basic local governments to which the target area belongs. This includes Gyeonggi-do, Incheon City, Gwangmyeong, Siheung, Namyangju, Hanam, Goyang, Bucheon, Gwacheon, and Ansan. There are eight public enterprises including LH, Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH), Namyangju, Incheon, Hanam, Bucheon, Gwacheon, and Ansan Urban Corporation.
The investigation team is planning to examine the details of land transactions of employees, spouses, and direct relatives and subordinates of the employees who have worked in the agencies and departments under investigation from 5 years prior to the announcement of the location (resident public announcement) to the present, and those subject to consent to the collection and use of personal information The investigation is conducted by checking whether they own the land related to the 3rd new town and looking at the transaction details through the land transaction computer network.
The investigation team will first conduct an investigation on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and all LH employees, announce the results in and out of next week, and continue to investigate the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and LH employees’ families, local governments, and other public corporations. Then, when illegal acts are confirmed, it will promptly take measures such as requesting an investigation, suing, and prosecuting, and devising measures to eradicate speculation related to public development, such as the use of internal information and prohibition of conflicts of interest based on the results of the investigation.
