[지앤이타임즈] The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is investing a total of 24.2 billion won this year to nurture industrial innovation talents, such as supporting the establishment of new master’s and doctoral education courses in line with the transition of eco-friendly vehicles and autonomous vehicles.

This reflects the Ministry of Industry’s policy stance that nurturing key talents is essential to move forward with a leading industrial structure such as fostering new industries and converting energy, which is an increase of 46% from last year.

The new industry focuses on nurturing talents who will support future growth engines.

In order to accelerate the transition to eco-friendly vehicles and autonomous vehicles, it will invest 10.59 billion won, an increase of 75% from the previous year, to nurture key talents in the field of future vehicles.

In the case of the eco-friendly car parts industry, a new master’s and doctoral training course will be established, and the training of master’s and doctoral-level personnel will be continuously supported in the future automobile R&D field such as autonomous driving software.

For the incumbent and retirees related to internal combustion engines that are experiencing an employment crisis, the company plans to produce 720 technical manpower per year through four base universities in each region for a smooth job transition to the future vehicle sector.

By focusing on training key personnel in the new energy industry that will support the Green New Deal and carbon neutrality, the company will invest 45.2 billion won, an increase of 6 billion won from last year, focusing on fields with high demand for manpower from companies such as solar and hydrogen.

In addition, in order to prepare for the reduction of the recruitment market in the nuclear field, and to smoothly advance into the future nuclear power field such as nuclear power plant decommissioning, safety, and radiation, we will provide new support for internships for majors and education for retirees’ career transition.

In addition, the Ministry of Industry is planning to invest intensively in nurturing industrial innovation talents, such as the bio field and the digital new deal, which are showing high growth on the occasion of Corona 19.
