[고양신문] The extension of the meal station, which was a long-awaited project in the Goyang Meal and Pungdong area, will be promoted by tram instead of Goyang Line (light rail). On the 29th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport announced that it will promote a new transportation project for Daegok-Goyang City Hall and Goyang City Hall-Meals to connect the underprivileged areas of railways in the region.

In a press release on the day, Hong Jung-min said, “The new transportation method announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is the right tram. It is expected that the convenience of commuting will be greatly improved as transfers to the Jungang Line, Line 3 and Daegok Sosa Line are possible.”

In this release of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the tram route is divided into’Daegok-Goyang City Hall’ and’Goyang City Hall-Meal’. In response, an official from Goyang City explained, “The reason for the division of the business is to shorten the administrative procedure by dividing the project cost into two and dividing the project cost.” .

“The separated route map is only for the convenience of implementing the project, but you can understand that it is actually one route.” “The confirmed tram route is a route that connects directly from Goyang City Hall Station to Daegok without a transfer. “There will be no big inconvenience in the transfer of the Goyang Line to the Daegok Station where GTX stops and the Seoul West Line.”

The tram route’Siksa Station~Goyang City Hall~Daegok Station’ is the same as the Goyang Line and is expected to be completed in 2029. It is said that the tram is likely to be the same method as the Wirye line introduced in Wirye New Town. Representative Hong Jeong-min said, “In the case of the Wirye Line, the maximum design speed is 70 km/h, so if we minimize the stopping station, it will not take long from Meal Station to Daegok Station.”

“However, there are many places that have been decided to introduce trams at the moment, but since there are no places that have officially started operation, standardization work is still required in Korea. Therefore, it is not easy to measure the actual driving speed.”

Congressman Hong Jeong-min said, “Thanks to the long-standing efforts of residents to establish a meal station, we were able to actively persuade related organizations such as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and lead to results.” The environment will be further improved.”
