Intel 12th Gen Core CPU Elder Lake, 16 Cores, 24 Threads Performance Leaked

The performance of Elder Lake, known as a desktop CPU based on the Intel 10nm process, came out.

Elder Lake is known to support a total of 16 core configurations with up to 8 cores each with a big-little structure, and the model that captured the performance this time is a 16 core 24 thread product. Due to its characteristics, it is estimated to consist of 8 cores of 8 cores and 8 threads of little cores with 8 cores of big cores, and it operates with a base clock of 1.38 GHz and a boost clock of 17.6 GHz on the gig bench DB.

The Geekbench 5 score was measured as single 996 and multi-core 6931. Compared to the previously identified Rocket Lake Core i7-11700K recording single core 1807 and multi-core 10673, single-core performance is about 55%, and multi-core performance is about. It is about 65%.

This may be due to the relatively low core clock, or the possibility that the Windows scheduler is not yet optimized for Intel Elder Lake’s big-little architecture support.

Meanwhile, Elder Lake is expected to be released at the end of 2021, and it is known that a new socket of the LGA 1700 will be applied.
