Indonesian Rescue Team “Suspicious object found in the remains of missing SJ182 flight…unconfirmed”

An object suspected of being the wreckage of Sriwijaya Airlines flight SJ182, which had lost contact shortly after taking off from Jakarta, Indonesia, was discovered outside Jakarta.

According to Reuters on the 9th, Agus Haryono of the Basarnas search and rescue team said in an interview that rescuers found an object that appears to be the remains of a missing airliner in the waters north of Jakarta.

Haryono explained, however, that it has not yet been confirmed whether the debris came from flight SJ182, which lost contact after taking off with over 50 passengers.
