Kim Kwang-seok is a veteran among veterans who debuted in 2003 and played 409 games in the K-League. In addition, he was active in Pohang for all his professional life except during his military service. At such a late age, Kim Gwang-seok starts a new challenge with a new team called Incheon.

Last season, he competed in all games under Pohang, proving his strong stamina.

The recruitment of’Veteran’ Kim Kwang-seok is of great significance to Incheon. Incheon received a lot of praise for lack of a veteran who could hold the center when the team was shaken.

Kim Gwang-seok is considered one of the best professional players in the K-League.

He said, “I think the skills from the first division to the fourth division are similar. But I think that mentally strong players gain confidence and achieve results,” he said. “If you make a mistake, you can defend and take it again without fear of making mistakes. If you are thirsty for mistakes, you lose confidence. I won’t keep making mistakes. It is important to have a mental power that is not afraid of mistakes.”

Incheon is striving to strengthen defense by recruiting Kim Gwang-seok, Oh Ban-seok, Oh Jae-seok and Delbridge this season. Fans’ expectations are also growing. Asked Kim Gwang-seok about his expectations for this season, he said, “We have to take steps gradually. It is a miracle to change at once.” “The existing players and the new players must do well. If you go well without any injuries in 38 games, you will be able to reach a higher position than last season.”

Kim Gwang-seok said to the fans, “I haven’t met the fans yet, but all players are working hard on the field, so I ask for a lot of support,” and said, “I will work hard in a position I can every year. To young players, praise rather than curse them so that they can grow and have a bright future.”
