Chairman Choi criticized “a very wrong act”, saying, “Because the amendment to the medical law and the lives of the people are at a different level, we should not associate the two.”
“The Act on the Prevention and Management of Infectious Diseases has already given oriental doctors the same duty as doctors to diagnose infectious diseases and report adverse reactions,” he said. “If only oriental medicine clinics and oriental medicine hospitals are added to the enforcement decree related to vaccination work consignment, It will be possible to inoculate,” he added.
Earlier, the National Assembly’s Health and Welfare Committee passed an amendment to the medical law stating that the licenses of doctors sentenced to imprisonment or higher can be revoked. Since it is about a license for medical personnel, it applies not only to doctors, but also to oriental doctors, dentists, and nurses.
In the case of imprisonment, the re-issuance of a license is prohibited for 5 years after the end of the sentence and up to 2 years after the expiration of the period of probation. After a certain period of time, the license can be reissued.
By reflecting the specialty of the doctor’s job, the license was not revoked in case of punishment for medical negligence that occurred during medical practice. In other words, even if you are punished by imprisonment or higher due to a medical accident, you are not subject to cancellation of your license.
