The results of a weekly public opinion poll that President Moon Jae-in’s approval rating rose to the 40% level in eight weeks came out on the 25th.

According to the results of a survey of 2510 adult men and women nationwide (±2.0% points for 95% confidence level) on the 18th and 22nd by Real Meter commissioned by YTN, President Moon’s affirmative evaluation (approval rate) was 5.1 percentage points from last week. It was 43.0% on the right.

The negative evaluation was totaled to 53.2%, down 4.4% points. 3.7% of respondents did not know.

According to Real Meter, President Moon’s approval rate reached a record low of 35.5% in the first week survey in January, and then rebounded to 37.9% in the second week and 43.0% in the third week, showing an upward trend for two consecutive weeks. In particular, it was only 8 weeks after the fourth week (43.8%) of November last year that the approval rating exceeded the 40% range.

Party approval ratings also reversed in eight weeks in the Real Meter survey. Since the first week of December (33.5% of the people and 29.3% of the democracy), the power of the people, which has been ahead of the Democratic Party, was counted to 28.6%, down 3.3 percentage points in this survey. The Democratic Party rose 1.9 percentage points to 32.8%. The gap between the two parties’ approval ratings is 4.2 percentage points, which is outside the margin of error.
