[아시아경제(대전) 정일웅 기자] The Daejeon City will extend the operating period of the Hanbat Gymnasium Temporary Screening Center to the 14th of next month and allow anyone who wishes to receive a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) diagnostic test for free regardless of symptoms.

On the 18th, the city announced that it would extend the operation period of the temporary screening and inspection center at Hanbat Gymnasium located in Busa-dong, Jung-gu until the New Year’s special quarantine period set by the government.

The temporary screening laboratory started operation on December 28 last year and conducted a corona 19 diagnostic test on a total of 7986 people until the 16th of last year, resulting in finding 14 confirmed cases. It is currently operated by four private medical personnel employed by the city and personnel from the Korean Tuberculosis Association.

The city expands the target area with the extension of the operating period. Even if there are no symptoms, anyone in Daejeon who wants to undergo a diagnostic test can receive the test for free. Diagnostic tests can be received at the Temporary Screening Laboratory on weekdays from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, and from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on weekends.

Pregnant women, the elderly, and the disabled receive a drive-through, and general subjects receive a diagnostic test with a walking-through, and test results can be checked within 24 hours.

“The city has decided to extend the operation of the temporary screening laboratory as the second stage of social distancing has been extended due to the special quarantine countermeasure period for the New Year,” said Jeong Hae-gyo, the city’s health and welfare director. “I ask you to find a laboratory and receive a free diagnostic test.”
