IM Mission education facility training rate up to 97%… Request for “Prohibition of in-person worship”

The coronavirus infection from IM Mission has spread to IEM International School in Daejeon and TCS International School in Gwangju, and to Antioch Church in Gwangju. According to the quarantine authorities, as of 6 pm on the 28th, there were at least 344 confirmed cases related to the IM Mission. Since the first group infections began at IEM International School and TSC International School, the infection has spread in other unlicensed facilities related to the mission. In addition, as an associate pastor of Antioch Church in Gwangju, Gwangju, who had a child who was living in a boarding life at TCS International School, was confirmed by the coronavirus, the number of confirmed patients related to this church surpassed 60 as of 10 am on the day.

According to the quarantine authorities, there are 40 educational facilities related to the IM Mission in 11 provinces and cities nationwide, including two international schools. All are unlicensed facilities. As a result of a survey on IM Mission by the quarantine authority, a total of 344 confirmed cases were found in 5 cities and 7 facilities as of 6 pm on the 28th.

In particular, according to the corona test results of 24 educational facilities released by the Mission, 257 confirmed cases were found at 6 facilities as of 10 pm on the 27th, and the overall positive rate reached 32%. In infection-prone facilities, it recorded a whopping 68-97%.

While posting the results of the corona diagnostic test on the website, the mission side repelled by highlighting the negative test results of some educational facilities, Hongcheon local residents, and residents near IEM International School in red, saying, “I apologize for the corona positive result from the school.” I also bought.

In 12 of the 24 educational facilities related to IM Mission, all members were confirmed negative as a result of the corona test, but the positive rate soared to a maximum of 97% (excluding 1 person) in 7 infection-prone facilities. According to the city of Daejeon, IEM International School, where group infections occurred, lived with as little as 7 to as many as 20 people in one dormitory. Some floors shared shower facilities, and there were no partitions for seats in the dining area. The students went to bed in a place where their personal space was not separated, and when a student showing suspicious symptoms for the first time appeared on the 12th, the school did not take any action. Eventually, 133 out of 158 members were infected with the corona.

As for the reason for the outbreak of group infection, IM Mission said, “We were unable to quickly respond to the initial response to the idea that it could be a cold,” and “We assume that there were asymptomatic infections among the students in the admission.”

As group infections from religious facilities spread again, a petition was posted on the Blue House website on the previous day asking’to ban face-to-face worship at all churches.

Daejeon City, Gwangju City, Gyeongbuk Province, and Ulsan City have issued administrative orders for corona inspection on IM Mission officials and visitors to related facilities.
