Former Korean short track national team player Lim Hyo-jun (25Photo) Is more likely to not be able to step on the Olympic stage.

Im Hyo-jun, who was disciplined in Korea for’forced harassment’, made an irrational number of’naturalization in China’ to participate in the Beijing Winter Olympics, but his failure to properly understand the rules made his participation in the Olympics unclear.

According to the Korea Sports Association on the 9th, Lim Hyo-jun cannot participate in the Beijing Olympics as a Chinese national team if the Korean Sports Association opposes it pursuant to Article 41 (2) of the Olympic Charter of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). In order for an athlete to change his nationality and compete in the Olympics, three years have passed since the international competition in which he participated in the existing nationality.

Lim Hyo-jun was a Korean national player on March 10, 2019, and has competed in the International Ice Skating Federation (ISU) World Championships, and can compete as the Chinese national team after March 10, 2022. The Beijing Olympics will start on February 4th next year and end on the 20th.

According to the charter, there is an exception that can shorten or cancel the grace period if the former National Olympic Committee (NOC), the current National Olympic Committee (NOC), and the International Federation for Each Sport (IF) agree, but it seems that Hyo-jun Lim will not benefit.

This means that only with the permission of the Korean Sports Association, Hyo-jun Lim can participate in the Beijing Olympics as China’s representative. This is because if Lim Hyo-jun participates in the Chinese national team, it can affect Korean players’ medal acquisition.
