Guy W. Lefit, 48, of Wiley, Texas, is under investigation after being arrested by the FBI on charges of intruding into the Capitol on the 6th. However, his son Jackson Lepit, 18, told local media such as CNN and New York Times (NYT) on the 23rd (local time) that he was the one who reported his father to the FBI.
According to his son, his father, Lefit, has often said, “I will do great things soon.” “I was really worried about what would happen. I didn’t know what the’great thing’ was, so I had to do everything I could to be safe,” he said.
It was through the news at the time of the intrusion of the Capitol Hill that he realized the meaning of’great work’. The father, who was filmed in the broadcast video, was sitting on the steps of the capitol, wearing a blue bulletproof vest and helmet, washing the tear gas off his face.

Father returned home two days after the intrusion to the Capitol. He, who was being pursued by the investigative authorities, told his family that “I went to Washington to protect the state and raided the Capitol.” “If you accuse me to the police, I have no choice but to do what I need to do. If you accuse me, you are a traitor. Rebels are shot.”
However, while on the FBI’s investigation, he was arrested a week later by the police who ran into the house. At the time of arrest, an AR-15 rifle and a Smith & Wesson pistol were found at home, and it was revealed that he was part of a right-wing extremist militia called the Texas Freedom Force.
In an interview with NYT, Refit told NYT that he was “acting in the direction of my conscience to protect my family and father.” “I didn’t think my father would do anything bad, but I couldn’t stand threatening my family,” he said. “I ruled out my emotions for what I thought was right, and I don’t regret the decision.”
However, he expressed his regret, saying, “I only resent the far-right group that my father supported,” and “It seems that my father was manipulated by the orders of former President Donald Trump.” He said of his father being investigated in custody, “I am worried that I will be shocked to know that the person who reported it was me.”
