[일렉트릭파워 배상훈 기자]Korea East-West Power President Park Il-joon visited Dongkuk Steel’s Incheon Factory on April 9. Then, on-site inspection of the new energy industry was conducted.

East-West Power has built a 108MWh energy storage system (ESS) facility at Dongkuk Steel’s Incheon Factory in 2019. The plant has been saving about 26 billion won in electricity bills so far.

East-West Power Plant President Park Il-joon intensively checked the safety of facilities such as firefighting facilities and special battery fire extinguishing systems. After listening to the opinions of the on-site staff, he asked them to work hard on safety management.

In 2017, East-West Power developed the energy cost reduction business model (ESS MSP) using ESS for the first time in Korea. In addition, it is operating 252MWh of ESS facilities in 14 locations nationwide.

East-West Power has analyzed the power usage patterns of energy consuming companies through energy cost reduction projects. It provides optimal operating services and shares profits by reducing corporate electricity bills.

An official from East-West Power said, “We plan to expand customer-customized ESS supply business such as strengthening safety and improving operation methods by collecting opinions on the field of operation of ESS facilities.” said.

Meanwhile, East-West Power has developed a variety of new public-private-public-public cooperation energy business models such as ▲industrial roof solar construction project ▲citizen-participating virtual power plant ▲smart energy city construction ▲campus energy efficiency project. Currently, it is taking the lead in shifting the energy paradigm and creating shared values.
