IBK Myanmar Bank officially launched in January…Expanded business areas to local companies and retail finance

[디지털투데이 고정훈 기자] IBK Industrial Bank announced on the 3rd that it received final approval for establishing a local corporation from the Central Bank of Myanmar on December 30 last year. IBK is planning to officially launch’IBK Myanmar Bank’ in January and start operating in earnest.
IBK Myanmar Bank can handle most of the business handled by local banks such as companies, individuals, and foreign exchange. Local companies as well as domestic companies in Myanmar can trade. The bank said that it will solve the inconvenience of Korean companies that have been having difficulties with banking transactions and provide the same level of service as in Korea.
IBK plans to gradually expand its business area to local companies and retail banking from sales centered on domestic companies that have entered the region.
An IBK official said, “Based on IBK’s unique medium-term financial capabilities, we will provide products and services that meet local characteristics to develop into a leading bank in Myanmar’s mid-term finance.” And plans to contribute to economic development.”
IBK Myanmar Bank is the first case of IBK’s overseas expansion to establish a local subsidiary without switching branches from offices. IBK will have 3 local subsidiaries and 59 local stores in 12 countries.
